The Banco series comes from the in-house production collection of the Dutch brand WOOOD and meets the latest design trends. The black metal frame is sharply cut and forms a pleasing combination with the warm-colored Thermo Ayous wood. Material The metal frame of the Banco series consists of a hollow construction with a matte black powder coating. It is recommended to place tile/floor protectors on the underside to ensure the base remains flawless for longer. The seat and backrest are made from fast-growing African softwood called Thermo Ayous. The Ayous used for this series is FSC-certified wood and therefore comes from well-managed forests. Because Ayous wood has an open cell structure, it can be perfectly thermally preserved by means of a treatment with steam or heat without the use of chemicals. This makes the wood comparable to a hardwood. To maintain the natural color of Ayous wooden furniture, we advise treating the wood with the Exotan Teak sealer. If the wood has already grayed, it is important to first clean the furniture with the Exotan Teak cleaner and then apply the Exotan Teak sealer. Dimensions Total dimensions: 78 cm (H) x 132 cm (W) x 82 cm (D). The seat height is 41 cm and the seat depth is 34 cm. The backrest measured from the seat is 46 cm and thus offers good support. The robust woodwork has a thickness of just over 4 cm. The metal base is 5 cm wide and extends slightly at the back for a stable balance. The space between the legs is 110 cm. Maintenance This tropical wood species is heated up to 215 Celsius. Due to this "baking," Thermo Ayous is more resistant to moisture, exceptionally stable, and will remain maintenance-free for years (Durability Class I). After the Ayous wood has been thermally treated, it has a beautiful modern and warm appearance and changes due to weather influences, gradually turning uniformly gray (just like tropical hardwood). Over time, superficial cracks and fissures may appear in the wood, but the quality of the wood will not deteriorate as a result. Do you want to maintain the original color as much as possible? Then you can treat the wood with an oil, coating, or stain suitable for exterior wood (preferably including UV protection). However, a slight discoloration will always occur. We recommend treating the wood 1 or 2 times annually. Seek advice in the store for the appropriate treatment product and application method. Treating the wood is at your own risk, which will void the warranty. Assembly & delivery Banco is delivered in two packages and is easy to assemble using the clear assembly instructions.
